We know the real estate process is stressful. We know kids will be home for summer vacation as well. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of fun events happening in our area for you.
- Fun in the water: Heat is rolling in and there are plenty of water-based activities. Pay a visit to the municipal pool. This month, the Boys & Girls Club will offer water aerobics for $1. If you’re uneasy about swimming, the pool offers lessons for all ages.
- Explore nature: If you don’t want to be in the water, there’s plenty to do at the McAllen Nature Center. You can explore walking trails or take a nighttime hike on Fridays. Bring a flashlight, bug spray, and closed-toe shoes. You can always get your hands dirty by volunteering to weed, prune, rake, and more.
- Library activities: Perhaps, it’s raining and you’re looking for something quieter to do. The McAllen Public Library offers events all season long from storytime to craft times to dance parties to Lego club. You can always unwind and relax with a book while the kids attend these programs.“
Watch your favorite flicks”
on a giant movie screen!
- Movies in the park: Watch your favorite big-screen flicks on a giant movie screen. Every Saturday this summer, the McAllen Parks and Recreation Association will host a Movies in the Park event for the surrounding community. Bring the whole family along with a picnic blanket and basket!
